Project Notes:
My name is Meberatu Melkamu. I’m a father, a husband, and a man who once believed that hard work alone could protect my family. But today, life has broken that belief. And we are breaking with it.
Fundraiser created 1 day ago
Meberatu Melkamu is the organizer of this fundraiser.
I don’t know what else to do but to open my heart to you, stranger, friend, human being.
We are not just struggling. We are drowning.
My daughters Emrakle and Eleni go to bed with empty stomachs.
My wife, Alemtsehay, holds in her tears so our children don’t see her break.
My blind grandmother depends on me. My elderly father does too.
But I can no longer carry them alone.
I lost my job when the company I worked for was sold. Since then, we’ve lived each day in fear of eviction, illness, and hunger.
I have a degree in plant sciences, but in a broken system, even education can't put food on our table.
I am not asking for charity.
I am asking for a chance.
If I can raise $22,000 (1,300,000 ETB), I will purchase a plastics compressor and crusher machine to start a small recycling business.
This machine means
💼 A stable income to feed my children and care for my elders
🌍 A cleaner environment for our neighborhood
👨👧👧 Dignity restored not by handouts, but by honest work
🧱 A chance to rebuild our lives from the ground up

Share Maybe you can’t help now, but someone in your circle can.
Encourage. Your words can carry us through another hard day.
💥 You’re not just helping us survive; you're investing in a solution, not a short-term fix.
🤝 This is a human story, not just a number. It’s real. It’s raw. It’s now.
🔁 Every dollar echoes in environmental cleanup, in job creation, and in saved lives.
🕊️ You're not donating you’re giving us air to breathe again.
From one human to another
If you’ve ever felt helpless… if you’ve ever needed someone to believe in you…
Then you already understand what I’m going through.
Please, stand with us.
Not out of pity but out of shared humanity.
🙏 Thank you,
Meberatu Melkamu
